VisiQuate is looking for a Data Engineer who is passionate about working with data and wants to grow in the direction of data architecture and modern data platform design.
This role goes beyond building pipelines. You will play an active part in shaping how data is structured, stored, and optimized, working with large-scale datasets accumulated over more than 16 years. We are looking for engineers who are curious about different data modeling approaches, stay up to date with industry trends, and continuously expand their thinking beyond standard solutions.

We are open to candidates with different backgrounds and strengths, but you should strongly align with at least one of the following profiles:
● Technical Expert — You have deep knowledge of data modeling, architecture patterns, and platform design. You can assess a data system and quickly identify weaknesses and improvements. You are familiar with approaches like Data Vault, understand trade-offs between different modeling techniques, and have strong hands-on experience with SQL and data pipeline tooling.
● Hands-On Practitioner — You have a proven track record of improving systems in practice. You automate manual processes, optimize inefficient pipelines, and reduce technical debt. You focus not just on maintaining systems, but on making them better. Your experience is demonstrated through concrete results and impact.
● The High-Potential Engineer — You may have fewer years of experience, but you learn fast, take initiative, and don’t wait to be told what to improve. You research new approaches on your own, propose ideas, and follow through. You’re the kind of person who opens a ticket before someone asks you to.

Requirements

● 4+ years of experience in data engineering or database development
● Strong understanding of data modeling principles
● General awareness of alternative data modeling approaches (for example, Data Vault)
● Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
● Experience with at least two of the following: MS SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL
● Experience with SSIS or similar tools
● Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster is a plus
● Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python
● Experience with Git (branching workflows)
● Understanding of CI/CD tools
● Basic understanding of cloud environments and managed database services
● English — Intermediate or higher

This is not a Data Science role. We are looking for a hands-on engineer who goes beyond prompt engineering and can design, assemble, and deliver production-ready AI systems using modern LLM capabilities.

We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking SQL developer to join our development team working with the latest technology.
The ideal candidate is a driven individual, who is not afraid to take on large projects and is excited about honing their development skills.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing existing ETL process to ensure accuracy and reliability as well as performing daily ETL and DBA tasks in support of the business and create new ETL.
The successful candidate will have solid bedding of SQL Developer skills, T-SQL and an understanding of, or experience with the Microsoft BI Stack including SSIS.
Experience with DBA functions including general maintenance, tuning, replication, and query optimization is a plus.

● Minimum 1 years’ ETL process and solution implementation experience with numerous project successes demonstrating a strong aptitude in all aspects of data integration and data warehousing;
● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in database concepts, logical modeling, physical design and database installation, configuration, and optimization;
● Process knowledge and experience with SQL Server, SSIS etc;
● Experience in ETL tools such as: MSBI (SSIS), Datastage, Data integrator, Kettle, Informatica etc;
● Experience in Data Migration from database and data warehouse application;
● BS and/or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience;
● Proficient in Microsoft Office business applications;

● Work with Client Services team, DBA team, Development Teams and Business Analyst to identify and understand source data systems, as well as provide input for enhancements for standardization and consistency across the Enterprise (Transactional systems, Data Warehouse, etc.);
● Map Import/Export Files to source system data. Map source data to data warehouse models;
● Develop and maintain ETL scripts and workflows, SQL queries, Agent schedules, etc. using SVN or GIT for version control;
● Define and capture metadata and rules associated with ETL processes;
● Modify existing ETL processes to improve performance and adapt to changing requirements;
● Use SQL Server query techniques and available tools, against the transaction system and the reporting data warehouse, to identify and analyze data quality issues;
● Perform daily review of production data processes to ensure successful completion;
● Review databases to ensure operating at optimal performance levels;
● Supports QA, Developers, Support and others allowing them to complete their assignments;
● Develop, test, and debug new functionality, and maintain/enhance existing functionality in using SQL, stored procedures;
